The default day temperature of 5500 K is 1000 K lower than the 6500 K standard of most monitors, so running redshift will give your monitor a red tint even during the day. This can be troublesome for photo editing and other color temperature sensitive activities. To counter this, there are two options. One is to disable redshift when using color temperature sensitive applications. The other is to change the default color temperatures in the config file.
